Playground problems and error messages
What to do when the Playground tab is missing or a chat will not open, send, or save.
The Playground tab is missing
The Playground appears only for signed-in learners aged 13 and over. If you cannot see it:
- Make sure you are signed in. Signed-out visitors do not see the tab.
- Check the age on the account. Accounts registered as under 13 cannot open the Playground.
- Try again shortly. We occasionally turn the Playground off for maintenance, which hides the tab for everyone.
“You’ve used all your creations for today”
You have reached the daily message limit. Your saved chats are still available to read and search, and the limit resets at midnight UTC. See Daily creation limits in the Playground.
“I couldn’t reply just now”
The reply did not come back. This is usually a brief connection or service problem. Send the message again in a moment. If it keeps happening, reload the page and check your internet connection.
“Couldn’t open that chat”
The chat could not be loaded. If it was deleted, or if you followed an old link to a chat that no longer exists, it disappears from the list and the Playground returns you to a new chat. Otherwise, reload the page and try again.
“You can pin up to 10 chats”
Ten chats are already pinned. Unpin one you no longer need, then pin the new one.
“That title isn’t allowed”
Chat titles go through the same safety checks as messages. Choose a different title.
Things slow down or stop responding after rapid use
Sending, searching, or editing chats very quickly in succession can trip a temporary rate limit that protects the service. Wait a minute and continue.
